Nature Walks

My husband and I are lucky enough to live near a nature preserve.
This is the route Dobie and I walk daily. He loves it. Beautiful!

First Blog Post

Hi I'm Rachel, Dobie Gage's foster mom. My hope for this blog is to be able to tell Dobie's foster story and to find a loving, forever home.

Dobie came to Act V Rescue and Rehabilitation (actvrescue.org) from Red Lake Rosie's Rescue (redlakerosie.org). My husband Nima and I began fostering Dobie Tuesday May 24th after his neuter surgery. The Vet staff had started calling him Gage, Karen from RLRR had been calling him Dobie- so he became Dobie Gage.

Dobie was surrendered by a family that didn't want him anymore. He was limping but would still run around. He had fractures in his front right and back left legs for awhile as some healing had already occurred. We think he was hit by a car.

Dobie has settled in wonderfully with us here. He had surgery on his back left leg June 6th. He has been recovering and I have been doing physical therapy with him. He has been progressing more and more over time. With being socialized in foster care and no longer in pain, he has developed into the dog he truly is- a spunky, funny, sweet boy. I wouldn't describe him as shy anymore! : )

I will post stories, pictures and videos of him whenever possible. He is such a sweet dog and we are lucky to have him in our care!

                                 Loving the new doggie bed!
